The Junkers
J7 was the first in a long line of Junkers fighter monoplanes to incorporate
corrugated duraluminum skin molding. The J7 model, which made its debut
in 1917, became a valuable prototype test craft for future German monoplane
fighters. The J7 missed its chance at greater renown when its entry
into the 1918 Aldershof fighter competiton was crashed before the trials.
The pilot: Anthony Fokker.
