K-12 EDUCATION COORDINATOR – The Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, a department of the Central Arkansas Library System, seeks a full-time coordinator to promote Arkansas history education through the Center’s curriculum materials, research resources, Arkansas History Hub, annual teacher-training seminar, and relationships with organizations and individuals interested in Arkansas history and education. Candidates must have or be in the process of gaining licensure to teach in Arkansas. Familiarity with Arkansas Department of Education curriculum frameworks, strong writing skills, ability to work collaboratively and independently, and good time-management skills are essential. Five years of teaching experience, graduate degree in curriculum and instruction, and familiarity with Arkansas history and geography preferred. Salary from $42,000. Excellent benefits. This is a grant-funded position dependent on final confirmation of funding. Start date August 10. LIBRARY ASSISTANT II / CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMER – Full time public service position at the McMath Library. Responsibilities include creating and implementing programs for children, doing community outreach, checking materials in and out, answering patron questions, registering patrons for library cards, some information searching and shelving. Familiarity with technology, digital media, ability to do instructional assistance on devices, and excellent communication and customer service skills are required. Familiarity with popular reading and entertainment materials desirable. Some evenings and Saturdays required. $23,400 plus excellent benefits. LIBRARY PAGE POSITIONS
Pages are part-time positions, sorting and shelving materials. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to reach all shelving with aid of a kick stool. Must have some knowledge of computers. Evening and Saturday hours may be required for branch locations; Sunday hours may be required for Main and H.R.C.Children's Library. Contact individual location for specifics. $7.50/hr.
