COMPUTER TRAINER / INSTRUCTOR / LIBRARY ASSISTANT II – The Central Arkansas Library System has a full-time position available to provide computer training to members of the public. Duties include assessing, developing, scheduling, and conducting hands-on training sessions and other related activities for library patrons. This position is part of the Information Services Department, and the successful candidate will also spend some time providing service to patrons at the Reference Desk. Familiarity with technology, digital media, ability to do instructional assistance on devices, and excellent communication and customer service skills are required. Applicant must be available to work evenings and Saturdays, work independently, think strategically and manage multiple tasks. Position requires 6 months experience training with MS Office and Windows operating systems. Bachelor’s degree and experience in training with other computer programs and internet required. ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATOR / GROUNDS CARE SPECIALIST / LIBRARY ASSISTANT II – CALS is seeking a creative and experienced environmental educator and grounds care specialist to add to its environmental learning team at the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library and Learning Center. This full-time position will be responsible for designing and implementing environmental and ecological programming and for providing care for the outside grounds, with specific attention to the eco-regions section on the property. The position is also a contributor to daily operations of the Library and Learning Center, including checking in and out books, answering the phone, and assisting patrons with book and computer requests. CALS is seeking a team-oriented person able to work cooperatively with staff, partners, and the public, and able to work some evenings and weekends. College degree in environmental sciences, ecology, outdoor education and/or related fields desired. Experience working with children and young people also desired. Salary from $12/hour depending on experience, plus benefits. LIBRARY PAGE POSITIONS
Pages are part-time positions, sorting and shelving materials. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to reach all shelving with aid of a kick stool. Must have some knowledge of computers.
